This Mountain bike tour starts from the Chiosco del Mincio and takes onto the gentle ups and downs of the hills just north of us.
Riding in the direction of Torre we then take unpaved roads across farmlands and up on the hills where there’s a mesmerizing view of the Pre-Alps.
Continuing onto an unpaved bike way that runs along the Great Canal that serves the Power plant in Pozzolo we then catch the paved bike lane that connects with the near town of Volta Mantovana.
We ride through a beautiful path into the woods to get to the town’s center. From there we take a quick road uphill to arrive at the Church of S. Maria Maddalena built in the 13th century and subsequently renovated during the 500s and 700s. This is an elevated spot from where to enjoy the view of the flat land south of Volta Mantovana.
Back on the road we ride in the direction fo Valeggio s/M through gentle hills and surrounded by fields and vines to arrive at the winery.
Our Destination: The Winery.
An expert enologist will take us through the means of wine local production. We will be guided through a tasting of the IGP wines for our wine country known as Merlot, Cabernet, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Rose’ and Sparkling Brut Method .
It’s also an opportunity to purchase the wines directly from the Winery and to have them delivered at the Chiosco del Mincio (our base) ready for pick up at the end of the tour.
Back on our bikes we ride back to Pozzolo. From there we take an unpaved and little known trail along the Mincio river to get to the locality of Falzoni where our tour guide will show us a unique panoramic view of the river from a special spot.
The last piece of this tour is on a paved municipal road that in circa 15 minutes will take us back to Goito.
